Aaron J. Spicker

Graduating from the University of Connecticut in 1986 I began working with diamonds and fine jewelry in New York City’s famous 47th Street Diamond District. I completed the GIA Diamond Course; Diamonds, while compiling credits for jewelry design and construction at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. In 1991 I moved to Los Angeles, California, where my incredible daughters were born.

My diamond career has been a rewarding experience including international travel and extensive trips within the United States.

I spent 34 years working in downtown Los Angeles. After years of traveling abroad; multiple trips throughout Europe and the Balkans, I eventually landed in Lisbon, Portugal.

It’s a LOVE story…Aaron and Portugal, what an incredible country.

Now I want to share Portugal’s secret beauty with you! Roman ruins, 7000 year megaliths, centuries of architecture, vineyards filled with happy grapes, religious and cultural riches, the rolling countryside, natural wonders, all wrapped within a warm Mediterranean lifestyle.

Portugal has an easy pace; taking time to taste the uniqueness of Portugal. Your organized trip is filled with local folklore, landscapes, architecture and time to rest in gorgeous accommodations.

I currently live in Lisbon and enjoy time for cooking, exploring this amazing city, photography, practicing electric bass, SCUBA diving and hosting many visitors. I have family in California and the Czech Republic and so many new friends from all over the world.

Travel has always been the door opener for making new friends, partly since we have new experiences unlike at home.

Although never guaranteed, we do try to introduce you to local folks, store owners, local food producers. Maybe to your surprise…you’ll walk away with a bunch of new friends too.

A History Lesson in Every Meal

There’s no better way to learn about this country than through its seafood, culinary delights, port & wines, and the incredible desserts! (wait ’till you try Pão de Deus, the Bread of G-d…just unbelievable!)

At The Tour Stops Here ® we do our best to try and fit in unusual and unique food experiences. Huge Portuguese breakfasts buffets, often a private chef for dinner. And when offered, the bonus of a cooking class (based on availability) are always a hit.
