Mission Statement

   At The Tour Stops Here ® I am here to orrganize your private tour. Allowing you to maximize your time exploring the less traveled Portugal. When I designed these tourist activities, I realized I would be saving my clients perhaps 3 visits to Portugal; sharing most what this amazing historically robust country has to offer.

You travel by a national Rental Car company here in Portugal , impeccable guest house stays, full Portuguese style breakfasts, dinners, tasting wines, ports and other amazing aperitifs. More? Yes! Visits to rare historical sites, curiosities of Roman ruins, a deep saturation of Portuguese culture; food tasting experiences and the less crowded yet spectacular places of Portugal’s rich heritage.

The Tour Stops Here ®  has built flexible itineraries. We organize your visit and your “to do/to see” with daily modules to accommodate client’s travel style and preferences, all at a comfortable pace.

Note: Extended Stays~ There is the ‘crush period’ in October in wine country ~ this can also be a perfect time of year to attend fairs and tasting events related to the Alentejo Wine Region

The tour is designed to travel from Lisbon and end in Madrid, Spain.  We drive Central Portugal up and thru Guarda and cross the Spanish boarder visiting Salamanca, Avila and more. Then arrival to your booking/hotel (not included) in Madrid. These custom tours can easily be designed to add extra nights along the way (your preferred pace and amount of daily drive time). You can see 2 countries~ flying into Lisboa and out of Madrid.

Custom Trip: 6 Days, 5 Nights ~ Lisbon, Porto & Douro Valley Wine Region

The tour is designed to travel from Lisbon and end in Porto.  We drive Central Portugal up and thru Sertã & Coimbra, veering East into the Douro Valley wine region. Eventually arriving to your booking/hotel (not included) in Porto. These custom tours can easily be designed to add extra nights along the way (your preferred pace and amount of daily drive time).  You can visit Portugal’s 2 major cities ~ Lisboa and Porto.
